I grew up doing gymnastics, swimming & cheering. In my 20s, I got super into going to the gym and beginning my love affair with weight lifting. Fast forward a couple of decades, I found yoga and my peace of mind using breath-work and meditation. Once I recognized how much yoga helped me (with anxiety, the ability to focus, etc.) - I decided it was my turn to give back and went through teacher training.
My greatest, humble-to-core teachers have been divorced and the realization that drinking (wine) had become a coping mechanism. As a single mom, starting over I decided to get my sh*t together. I stopped drinking over 6 years ago and got honest, focused, and present. Looking around at the truth of the life I'd created - and taking ownership. I literally made a decision one day that I've never questioned since, and that was to stop merely surviving - and start thriving. Best decision I have ever made!!
My purpose, my motivation - are my two kids, Frankie & Noah. I chose every day, to show them an example of what it means to thrive - what one can do with their life when they get clear and set their mind towards being the best version of themselves they can be. I come to my mat for obvious reasons. The most of which is to me, to get present, to remember what truly matters, and find a sense of gratitude. So, when you've had a tough day and possibly feel overwhelmed - come practice with me. Come back to your breath. Come back to the center. Remember all that is simple and beautiful. Namaste!
